here it is fromthreadbanger:
Include scrap threads in your paper beads for added durability and visual interest, like Ma Rut did for her craftster "save our earth swap".
Use tons of scrap thread along with scrap fabric and water-soluble stabilizer to make your own custom art fabric! Kelley Cheek on quiltingarts made a piece into a "Scrappy Book":
Kristin La Flamme made her art fabric into an amazing bag. She used mostly just fabric scraps, but you can throw a bunch of scrap thread into the mix to make a crazier final piece!
Quiltart had a recycled challenge in which lots of people included scrap threads in their artwork, like this piece by Meena Schaldenbrand with thread scraps making the grass.
I think a great use for a large collection of scrap thread would be to stuff it into a small quilt instead of batting. Check out the Art & Mini Quilts flickr group for inspiration. I love this Little House Quilt by badbird:
Or make your quilt pieces even smaller to use as coasters, like these on paperandpaint, with a tutorial excerpted from Last-Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson.
Take that thread as stuffing concept further to stuff a 3D object, like these awesome little pincushions by How about orange. If you have enough thread scraps to stuff them completely, it would work great!
And on that same note, why not use scrap thread to stuff anything small that needs stuffing, like tiny softies? This stuffed tooth by little green giraffe is adorable! Browse the softies flickr pool to see tons of creative stuffed things.
And lastly, this cute bird in a nest by mommyishome on craftster is a great project to do with a kid, and a pretty use of multicolored scrap threads:
I thought I'd be able to find some bracelets and necklaces made from scrap threads, but I could not, so I'd love to see some threadheads experiment with more scrappy ideas! Be sure to share your projects, I can't wait to see them!
